.DMO HOMO II

I have the honour to inform you that on the 21st instan

the S.S. "China" will arrive at the Macau Roadstead to receive a

consignment of (132) one hundred and thirty two cheats of prepared

opium"containing each 1000 taele, making a total weight of (132000)

one hundred and thirty two thousand teels for Mexican Ports. I beg to ask you to kindly grant us a special permit to tranship this

opium to the said steamer in case she had to anchor in Chinese Waters,

on account of tide and her heavy draught. The junk that will take the cargo of opium is "Kwong Hang Tai" master Li Fat, and she will

be towed by the Portuguese Government Tug-boat.

Thanking you in anticipation for the favour.

I have the honour to be,

sir.

Your obedient servant,

(signed) Mok Mun

Manager lau Seng Co. Macau,

Com procuração geral arrematantes d'opio cozido de Macau."

The usual permit was given, but as the steamer was & large one and no doubt would anchor and load in Chinese waters, instructions were issued by me that the cruising launch "Paktou" shouli, see that the opium was actually put on board. On the 21st April the
